This is a vintage stereo that I picked up from La Casa De Goodwill. I mostly bought it because it has a 'Scott' branded turntable made by Garrard. This unit looked as if it didn't work at all, to my surprise when I got it home, everything worked perfectly! The turntable sounds incredible (not on my inferior camera, unfortunately) and the tuner picks up all the local stations without the use of an antenna wire. It says "Scotsman" on the bottom, I don't know if this is the model, I can't seem to locate a model number (I haven't looked that hard yet). It is solid-state, and there isn't even any static in the controls. A quality piece of vintage equipment, indeed. I believe it has a Pickering stylus and cartridge. I will make another video after I get it cleaned up, showing the bottom and the inputs/outputs. Thanks for watching.

  • The S15s were nice speakers (around 1970).

Scott use them or S10Bs with their compact systems.

  • @gli7utubeo Yes, unfortunately the speakers were being sold separately and I didn't have enough cash to get them that day. Of course, they were gone when I went back to get them :-(

  • WOW what a find, they put those Garrards (and many others) in a lot of big consoles too! That thing has great sound, even the needles sounds fine?

  • Yes, I paid $24.99 for it at Goodwill, before someone had the chance to molest it and break the stylus off! I swear it is the best sounding turntable I have ever owned. It has a Pickering V15/CAC cartridge with the original DAT2 Pickering stylus, in like-new condition. I just noticed a few days ago that it only has FM band. How strange is that?

  • @49kasey are you still there,I have a question about a Scott receiver

  • That's a better piece of audio gear than any of the KLH compacts that were very popular back then because KLH made lousy electronics but Scott was one of the best. But the stylus doesn't last very long, don't let it go longer than a year, 6 months if you use it a lot. They are only about 10 bucks, your records are worth a lot more. Also, those screws clamp the turntable to the base for transit. Turn them down so that it sits on it's springs.

  • Oh man your lucky!

  • Thanks- Yes, the drop and return work, as does the 33 1/3 sensor arm at the back. I would like to hear how you polished your cover, it seems all of the ones I do get have horrible scratches on them. It would be cool to see videos of your turntables!

  • Now that is a beautiful stereo system.

You don't usually see nice units like that at the thrift stores too often.

  • No AM radio? wow, never heard of such a thing... very unusual! Those styli will last a long time if they're not abused... and that alone would be worth more than $24.00!! Great find!!
