Exclusive Thermalright Lab testing of Spitfire on GTX480,
test was done with latest furmark 1.8.0 , and uses 1600rpm fan, (no side panel fan were used in this test)full loading under furmark was around 80 degrees, without VRM cooler ( will be ready soon!) ,which would allow more drop in VRM and GPU temp, so keep watching!

Note: you must have good airflow inside a case, that is perhaps some fan below the VGA when running Furmark, during gaming this is not a requirement.

Since the launch of nVIDIAs monster GF100 core for the GTX480/470, we have received many requests from gamers and enthusiasts for a cooling alturnative to the stock cooling.
Of course, these requests attracted our attention due to the great amount of heat generated by the GF100. But, until we got our hands on the GTX480 and ran the Furmark tests, we didnt realize just how shocking the stock temps were.
The stock cooler consists of 5 heat-pipes and a 6,000 rpm fan but, the noise level produced and thermal cooling solution that the stock cooler provide are not satisfactory at all. Even with the stock fan running at full speed, the GPU core temp is still around 100 degrees Celsius. We tested the stock cooler many times including three times in a row and in two out of three tests, the whole system froze.
As you well know, the GF100 core is remarkably hot and with no after-market that can handle its beastly heat, until now that is!
We tested our Spitfire cooler on the GTX480 and we can affirm that the Spitfire will ensure a quiet and constant cooling. If you already own the Spitfire all youll need to purchase is our GF100BTK and youll be good and ready for your GTX470/480.

  • Plz make one for GTX 460 :( i want one soooo bad

  • @wishihadaname94 Our Shaman is compatible for GTX460, Spitfire will be compatible too, we will release the kit soon :)

  • You guys posted another video were you were getting 66c on full load. What did you do differently? I am really looking into buying the Spitfire and GF100 mounting kit, but I would like to know what it takes to get the 66c difference!

I also really like the specs of the X-Silent 140mm fan you sell. Would this have any problems with the Spitfire?

  • @loudpanzer in the first Video there was no VRM G2 on the GTX480,X-silent fan was first designed for Spitfire for low noise and good airflow operations, so there wouldn't be a problem, many thanks for your support!

  • @JeffVoon If you get a massively big case you can even fit 2 in there, one facing upwards and 1 facing downwards :D

  • Hi, is it possible to SLI using a top card using this cooler, with the cooler downwards facing? It looks like there is space to clear the bottom card (which will be using the stock cooler). I would like to make sure before getting it.

  • Okay, how the fuck do you have a such great graphics card and a keyboard from like the 1992? lol

  • so say its a 6870 vapor x, will the gpu use the vapor x cooling system as well as the thermalrights spit fire together for enhanced cooling?

  • @timmytime1793

well i have mine OC'd to 925 mhz core...and its the EVGA one, which cools like shit and is loud as fuck..

  • @wishihadaname94

if your 460 runs hot enough to need an aftermarket cooler then there is something wrong

  • @bradrhoades102840

Model M too godly for your comprehension I presume?

  • very nice...believe me i would hook up my old dell mechanical keyboard if my new comp had an old style keyboard plug

  • your keyboard made me die laughing

  • Im thinking of buying the spitfire in combination with the vrm cooler. On your site it states that it isnt compatible with big cpu coolers. But would it be possible to turn it 180 degrees downwards so that it fits? I saw a video of another user who mounted it this way. My case is the haf 932 the same as shown in this video. And would there be enough clearence so that it wont touch my psu or interfer with a soundcard?
