@LanSr1 Lefty wrote it and it became his first hit in 1950. Lefty was one of the giants of early country music. In 1951-52 Hank Williams Sr and Lefty Frizzell toured together. They considered each = as stars. They flipped a coin to decide who would be the headliner on given night. Willie pattern his singing style on Lefty.
