What makes a good speech great? How much is content, how much is presentation? And has Obama brought eloquence back to 21st-century politics for good?

  • @hookalakah no evidence? He happens to be in one of the most powerful positions in the world.

  • The title is saying [part 1 of 6]. But I can't seem to find the other 5 parts. Is there anyone who can post the links here? Thanks.

  • Obama campaigned in Massachusetts against Scott Brown; he's now a senator. He campaigned in New Jersey against Chris Christie; he’s now the governor. He campaigned in Virginia against Bob McDonnell; he’s now governor. He spoke for the health care plan; it became less popular. He campaigned in 2010 for the Democrats, they were shellacked. He flew to Copenhagen to get Chicago the Olympics; it was the first city eliminated. There is no evidence that he has the rhetorical powers he is relying on.

  • We do not need people who know how to speak. We need people who know what to do. Words, words, words, only empty words.

  • We do not need people who know how to speak. We need people who know what to do.

  • Oh hai Streetly school

  • "he's truly a transformational leader", yes he sure is, only Obama could transform the Republican Party from a joke to a winning electoral party.

  • Dear Sharpezor, will you upload the rest of this programme? Please do! I'm desperate to watch it again.

  • What's the music in this part? Is it something from Philip Glass?

  • More importantly - he is reading from a speech. A speech he and his advisors have crafted to read to people to bring hope.

It makes it no difference if he learnt it off by heart, read it from paper or read it from a teleprompter.
