  • Chew and spit is an eating disorder, not a diet. I can't believe this is being promoted like this. As someone who has struggled my whole life with this, I urge you not to start.

  • Hi, did you read a single word I said? I DON"T LIKE IT! IT DOES NOTHING GOOD I SAID THAT!!!

  • waste of food

  • yeah and killed my desire to ever have a hamburger again. I did not enjoy trying that!

  • I've been on the liquid pre-op diet for 11 days now and I started doing this the other night. I cannot have ANY food on my diet...nothing that will not go through a straw, and I've had serious cravings!!! I slipped up a couple of times until I started this and now I can satisfy my cravings without slipping again!! I don't recommend this after surgery but right now it at least lets me put food in my mouth and pretend to eat it!!

  • This is a HORRIBLE method of avoiding high calorie intake and HIGHLY dangerous! I am dealing with this type of eating disorder while recovering from anorexia and it is such a shameful act. I besiege you. Please, do not start chewing and spitting. It can cause both physical and mental disorientation. It is truly a horrifying habit to break.

  • I don't know why i never thought about this, brilliant!

  • @HealthIsInPlease Some people believe that it makes you gain weight because even though you're chewing and spitting, your saliva is breaking down the food and some of it is swallowed. So if you c&s a whole box of cookies, you might get some calories. Also, when you're chewing your body releases acid into your stomache because it think's it's going to eat, but it's not, and with nothing to burn, it can burn your stomach and give you ulcers. Apparently gum can do the same thing.

  • I don't recommend this to anyone.

I've been struggling with C/S for about 6 months now, and it's not benefited me in the slightest. You think it's fail proof and too good to be true. Well it is. I chew and spit large amounts of high sugar/high fat food. I have cavities in some of my teeth and the enamel is eroding away. It also gives you a puffy face because your glands swell when you are constantly spitting food out. I hate it and wish I could stop :(

  • It's easier than throwing up after. It's hard to do if you eat with others though

  • you are very pretty. lol c=s hahaha its more than chewing and spitting

  • thing is I don't see nething wrong with C&S I do it a lot actually./////*shrug* I really think that ppl r over acting to it

  • I am glad you don't like it! I hate it. I've spent thousands on my teeth, will probably end up with dentures in my 30's. I've had several crowns. The wear on your teeth is bad because with chew spit binges, many times people end up being exposed to more sugar than regular bulimia. I am saying this isn't a good behavior to start, it may sound innocent enough, but it is quite addictive. I am glad you hate it. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Sorry I offended you.
