Filipinos naturally assimilate wherever they are. In the United States, Americans of Filipino heritage absorb the culture that surrounds them. In this case, Nump, having grown up in a predominantly black / latino / minority community, in turn reflects this. You have to look at the bigger picture. There are also Filipinos who are "wanna-be" white. The odd thing is that you can find many of them in the Philippines.
