As part of the Butler Application Lifecycle and Development Management symposium (Butler ADLM, 10-11th June 2009, London, UK), the participating vendors are each asked to perform a 1 minute pitch in order to drive attendance to their lab sessions. It works a bit like the 'Gong Show' in that anyone still talking after 1 minute is abruptly interrupted and their pitch ended.
In typical, light-hearted style, Borland upped their game this year and delivered the Borland Rap courtesy of Stephen Walters (DJ Silk) and John McCann (MC Cann). You'll be glad to know that both parties have now officially retired from their rap career in favour of helping organisations turn their software delivery into a managed business process.
Please see below for the lyrics (just in case you want to sing along):
Borland Rap
Were Borland, we aint no Eminem
But we are the experts on ALM
Were here to help your business focus
Making software delivery a Managed Process
We dont do no rip and replace
A strategy like that is such a waste
Dont matter if youre traditional or Agile
Well ensure your products arent fragile
Were open to your methods and tools
Making best use of your system...... integration rules
Theres four key challenges of major significance
Ensuring software business relevance
Delivering products of superior quality
Saving cost, a business reality
Speed and increase product releases
We wont let your software go to pieces
So come to our sessions and talk to the crew
And see why Borlands the vendor for you!
