Tedd Webb - Webb's World - Exposed the Auto Union for the SLIME that they are.
Unions were once needed in America.
Now they are just an Albatross.

To Bail or Not to Bail, That is the Question...

One of the great enigmas facing Congress right now is what to do about the auto industry and in particular, General Motors, which is threatening to go under without a federal bailout. And of course that means Ford and Chrysler have their hats in their hands too. Some have suggested they should be refused the handout since it is nothing more than a gift to the UAW and not a solution to the problems that have beset the auto industry in America. They say the federal largess will only postpone the inevitable failure of the American car industry because it will not rectify the underlying problems...
In that light, I present what I have found to be the best arguments on both sides of the issue... the first in favor of a bailout by Patrick Buchanan...

The second one is by the man I consider to be the embodiment of true conservatism, George Will...

While Buchanan makes a good case for the bailout, I think the bankruptcy path would lead to an attenuation of the current problems of the industry... but then, what do I know...
Jocularly,
Jack

  • pure poppycock. $73.00 an hour has been debunked repeatedly. It's more like $23. And the Rush Limbaugh's of the right wing love to perpetuate this myth. Don't buy in to it. It's a way to shift the blame from myopic management to the workers. Yeah right. The workers are the ones that made the decision to focus on inefficient, poorly designed vehicles. Pure poppycock. Be skeptical of anyone that blames the workers.

  • @ 100000cranes, not to put blame on workers at all. Blame unions.

  • The problem with that is that it makes hirering americans very expencive so that greatly incorrige outsourcing.

  • UAW = U Aren't Working

  • Let the American Car industry fail, the CAW and UAW workers are paid too much, If they won't make concession to help the car companies allocate money, each of these union organizations can see how it is to work for minimum wage when the company files bankruptcy. Their big wages, and houses etc all gone if they dont make cutbacks to their legal agreements. There is lesson to be learned on both sides of the company and the unions. Clean up their act, and listen to the customer when building cars.

  • these sick folks hacking the unions, must not be allowed.

  • The wage of 70 dollars an hour is based on their hourly wage, benefits and legacy costs that go to retired UAW workers. So all these costs have to be taken into account when manufacturing a product and pricing it

  • ANY GUYS UP?

    looking for friends jP

  • No they don't AVERAGE 73 dollars an hour. The statement was made as UP TO $75.00 an hour.

That stupid announcer or radio talk show host is wrong. What an idiot.

  • i will personally spit on Gettelfinger's face
