The Osceola & St. Croix Valley Railway is one of Minnesota & Wisconsin's best kept secrets. This podcast shows the history of the railroad line, including its modern day passenger and special event train rides.

  • Thanks, this has been added to our playlists here, and on facebook...

  • @BNSF9187 I don't get why they only allow 844, 3985, 6936, 949 & 951 on their lines.

  • @thomasrosiefan1 UP doesn't allow any passenger excursions except their own on their trackage. Believe me, I am in a museum that proposed to UP about using part of a branch line that only sees 1 train a day 5 or 6 days a week, and their answer was "NO!" They don't want the liability.

  • @BNSF9187 Well could it be done at least to Stillwater depot first, the negotiate with UP to extend the line on their tracks to Hudson if they accept? Also, part of the line would be on the Minnesota Zephyr route & would be another Rails & Trails line.

  • @thomasrosiefan1 Couldn't be done, because UP owns the line from Bayport down to Lakeland Junction to Hudson.

  • I think the Osceola & St. Croix Valley Railway should be extended to Hudson using the depot at Stillwater & a new station at Hudson which could be connected with the proposed Eau Claire High Speed Rail Line there & run alongside the new Stillwater trails.
