  • Please, help me: JVC GZ-HM400, Canon Vixia HF S10, Panasonic SD300 or Sony CX520V? I like so much the Everio`s 1/2,33 CMOS and 10,3 effective resolution, but critics say Canon is "the choice", and the colors seems seductive. Is it real? And about Panasonic 3CMOS: better than 1 JVC`s CMOS? Sony`s Exmor? I like details, range, solid and professionalism. So thanks!

  • Please try all these camcorders and check also the manual controls. Very important for making the best and creative shots. Most consumer camcorders don't have practical manual controls. Also the latest cams, include the 3-sensor types, have smaller sensors so creating depth of sharpness and enjoying a big dynamic range is very diffcult.

  • I have read many reviews about this cam and it seems it has lots of pros. I would like to hear from you about the cons, that would be: Laser Touch controls that are inaccurate, mic picks up too much ambient noise, and strange shoe adapter setup. Any complaints?

  • Laser Touch is just a way of control. The same with MAC or Windows, or the difference between editing programs. It's easy to work with it when you have some experience. Very useful are the presets include 1 easy to program preset.

With mic control (+3 and -3) you can control the volume and sensitivity very good. Ofcourse a seperate mic is always the best solution. In the box you will find an adapter converter. In that way your prefered mic or lamp fits perfect.

  • Thanks for the answer! I want to buy a camcorder within the next days, but I am still undecided between JVC's Everio HM400 or Panasonic's TM350.

  • I didn't try the Panasonic, only know that the size of their CMOS is a little bit smaller (1/4inch) and that 32GB flashmemory of the 400 is more than enough for me.

  • @LukeMaff JVC's GZ-HM400 successer is the GZ-HM1. This top model is more lightsensitive and has a cheaper brother model called GZ-HM550. I think this model offers the best quality for the lowest price.

    Greetings from Holland!

  • duno what to go this cam or the canon vixia hf21... :S man i hate not being smart with cams haha any idea?

  • @elastic1337 pretty much any camera can fit a fisheye, considering you have the right adapter ring

  • Can this camera fit a fisheye? Please reply

  • So thanks! But for you, the JVC 'd be the best choice? Thank you again!
