The tune was written and sung by Darius Brubeck. Band consisted of Darius (piano), brothers Chris (bass) and Dan (drums) and one non-Brubeck, Jim Montgomery, on guitar.

-- Thank you jimcmont!

Credited to D. Brubeck, produced by Ted Macero. Found on a Galactic Zoo Dossier compilation, image from crudcrud.blogspot.com.

  • where did this come from? dave brubeck has six kids, four are musicans, two have the initial 'D" Dan and Darrius, thats about all i know. any one else?

  • @machinecrusade

I have no idea who these guys were. A commenter on this blog post suggests it was Darius's band but I can't find anything else suggesting it was his band. So maybe a D. Brubeck wrote it and the producer handed it off to The New Bag to have a go at.

  • Hey, I have this record, bought it in a dollar bin like six years ago. The D. Brubeck puzzled me for a while, but eventually talked to Darius via I think Myspace, he confirmed it was him. I think he had forgotten he ever did it---apparently it was just a college "experiment" with a buddy, not a real band. Weirdly enough, the only info I could find on the internet was that Crud Crud blog, which is actually a guy i know. I think they were in an issue of Plastic Crimewave too. MY$TERY $OLVED

  • i think the d brubeck credit is for the resemblance to take five? but it was dave's son in the band too

  • Awesome. Darius was 17 or 18 when he wrote this. Dan Brubeck was on drums, CHris Brubeck on bass, Jim Montgomery on lead guitar.
