Written by Anderson/Butler Song duration - 3:45 Out in April 1989, in a compilation album called WHAT THE WORLD IS WAITING FOR Recorded after winning Gary Crowley's GLR "Demo Clash" competition

I've the sun for the spoken word
And your obscene but never heard
You couldn't do your hair
You couldn't do your job
You couldn't liven us up with a cattle prod

But here you come like I knew you would
Do I just love you 'cause you look quite good
And here you come, are you the happy boy
Or are you just another, are just another one more

Because we step the step behind
Because we kiss and time
Because we love our kind
Because we're wonderful... sometimes

Because we kiss in time
Because we love our kind
Because we're wonderful

Lifetime in the rain is ours
60 years in people's car
I've heard of happy ever after
It was just a joke, but you could die laughing

Here you come like I knew you would
Do I just love you 'cause you look quite good
And here you come, are you the happy boy
Or are you just another, are just another one more

Because we step the step behind
Because we kiss and time
Because we love our kind
Because we're wonderful... sometimes

Because we kiss in time
Because we love our kind
Because we're wonderful

Kiss in time
Love our kind
We're wonderful

We kiss in time
We love our kind
We're wonderful

  • This had nothing to do with the Gary Crowley "Demo Clash" competition on GLR. I compiled the album that this came out on when I was programming the Powerhaus venue in North London back in 1990. The album contains 10 tracks by 10 of the hottest up and coming acts of the time. Suede were the most notable but Tim Keegan from Departure Lounge / Robyn Hitchcok etc featured with one of his early groups - Railroad Earth.

  • @TheVascoPaiva Hear! hear!

  • @rothsuede nothing is better than the smiths, NOTHING I TELL YOU!!!!

  • It seems to me that there should have been an album by suede before the debut album. The debut album came out in what? 92. And this song should have been on it along with layabout. because these songs capture bernards flange sound.

  • This is better than the smiths

  • @thenewfella1994 Yea! Or Inbetween Days...

  • 'Fanks a lot, modern.

  • @LunaSeaSane i am a Smiths fan...i am a suede fan too and yes, this is sooooo The Smiths...i agree Luna! ;)
