  • Wow. When you have two masters who know what they're talking about and take their audience seriously, the conversation gets kick up ten notches.

  • Very interesting.

It was an underrated Harryhausen picture.

When I was a child, I got to see it in the theater on a double bill with "Close Encounters". It was a great experience.

  • Excuse me I'm doing a research paper about stop motion and i'm wondering when this interview was made?

  • The legend of stop motion animation himself!

  • I like how when Dante says "effects wiz," Harryhausen kind of dips his head with a smile like, "Oh, jeez, they still call me that." Haha!! Such a humble guy, though. Both of them!

  • Execellent vid. Thanks for posting. :)

  • I recon with a digital motion blur on the stop-motion and colourisation on this picture, it would hold up even better today. I mean REALLY hold up well. The guy's a Master.

  • Both of these guys are awesome. I love puppets, animatronics, and stop motion and movies like what these guys, O'Brien, Jim Henson, and Stan Winston did were all amazing. There's just something more real things in their movies even knowing it's all fake. Real locations and something you can touch with each method. I want to be a filmaker someday and use these methods if I can.

  • This film shows that you need no cgi to make realistic sfx. These flying saucers are very realistic and they must have been hard to animate. And all made on a budget of about $400,000.

  • sehr gut

    very good

  • wouldve liked to know more about the costumes on the alien creatures and who designed them.but thanks -best interview so far
