  • what are the advantages/disadvantages to using a water jet as compared to a cnc lazer

  • The only real advantage to a waterjet is that it will cut ANY material up to 6" thick with the exception of carbide & tempered glass. The laser is much faster, lower maintainence, more reliable and less expensive to run. The laser also has much better precision. Waterjet machines have their place but for sheet metal production a laser can't be beat...

  • What abrasive did you use?

  • we use garnet at approx 1# per minute...

  • Search for laser cutting or waterjet cutting service. You could also check with a couple of machine shops since a lot of shops are familiar with the equipment and capabilities of their competition...

  • How would you search for such a company? Look for a "machine shop"?

  • Find a local company wit ha waterjet or a laser and give them a drawing of what you need cut. It is typically inexpensive depending on the material that you need your part made from...

  • man i need 1 of those to cut a symbol from metal too bad thier only for large scale
