  • Burr ran as Jefferson's VP but for some reason, he tied Jefferson in electoral votes (most votes go to Prez, second placer gets VP), hence the House had to decide who would be president. For some reason Burr did not concede (even if he originally ran for VP) which led the Federalists, led by Hamilton, to vote for the lesser of two evils. Hamilton hated both, but thought Jefferson would not be as big a calamity as Burr.

  • Actually, there was an exception to that rule at the time.

"No person except a natural born Citizen,***or a Citizen of the United States, AT THE TIME OF THE ADOPTION OF THIS CONSTITUTION*** (emphasis, not yelling) shall be eligible to the Office of President..." -Article 2 § 1 clause 5 U.S. Constitution

  • Alexander Hamilton was a pompous, petty ass-licking social climber that made his name with an over-trusting Washington, used his influence to slander anybody that didnt follow his plans and his vision of what the United States should be. He resorted to bribes and threats to get his way and often sold his influence. He recognized his social and intellectual superiors and hated them just for being what he could never be. He was one of the most vile men of the era.

  • Alexander Hamilton Could not be President because he was not born in the United States.

  • No; this was 1804, long after Adams was out of office. Jefferson was running for re-election; Burr (the VP) was running for Governor of New York.

  • You left out john adams running for reelection duuuuude!!!

  • I didn't think it was stupid at all. I see what you did--you simply re-read the whole script. I liked your rendition. You'd make a great storyteller.

  • This is really really stupid.
