Yamamba / Yamaba

The Yamamba of ancient Japanese lore involves a mountain spirit which makes prey of those wandering or lost in remote mountainous regions. The hideous demon generally takes the form of a harmless elderly woman. Those unfortunate enough to be deceived by this guise are said to be devoured by the demon. In this tale, two contemporary TV producers venture into a remote rural town in the hopes of doing a story on the local legend of a yamamba.

  • Mad Wolf survival rules (continued):#2 (5:44) When traveling in remote areas at night, never stay in the home of a person with a VERY old fashioned hairstyle, and clothing. Could be a ghost.

#3 (6:37) If the host isn't drinking it, then you probably shouldn't drink it. Of course, if they do drink, that rule can sometimes backfire as you never know about the other person's constitution.

#4 (6:59) Leave your clothes on! It is better to stink and be prepared to run, than to smell good and die.
