  • I found this confusing .. maybe my maths teacher teaches me differently om only in second year

  • why does he make it so hard? No wonder people think maths is difficult. He could not make it more difficult if he tried

    5X+Y=7 is the first equation and 2x+3Y=-5 is the second. You have to find the value of X and Y to ( same x and same y for both equations to make the statement correct.

    5x+y=7

    Y=7-5X  ( just take the 5X across to right hand side and it becomes negative)

    Stick this in the second equation and see what shakes

    2x+3Y=-5 now becomes 2X + 3(7-5X)=-5

    this is jsut dropping the
