Terry Sweeney - Negative Reflex Blues
Designer and pioneer hang gliding movie actor Terry Sweeney was one of the "Legends of Hang Gliding" invited to speak at the very well attended Soaring100 at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina 21 through 24 October 2011.
The four days in Kitty Hawk celebrating the 100th anniversary of Orville Wright's record setting 9 minute 45 second unpowered soaring flight with scores of other "Legends of Hang Gliding" as we were billed, easily rivaled the best weekend in my life. Meeting and spending time with Terry was an exceptional treat. It was a magnificent reunion of some of the most extraordinary geniuses of aviation. My presentation was received by the pioneers of our sport with great enthusiasm and I succeeded in shining a light on a little understood part of our sport's creation which I believe will rewrite the American perspective of our sport.
