They are on the tripod. Too many things happened in NYC, people do not pay attention to small things!

It doesn't shoot wide screen. It shoots 4:3. But when you edit your video you can choose to render in wide screen, cropping off the top and bottom of your frame.
The video quality is good enough that it supports this.
