For pigmented lesions such as sunspots and age spots due to sun damaged skin and other factors, results become apparent a few days after the first treatment. For darker and well-defined spots in which the melanin is close to the surface, 1-3 treatments are typically all that is needed. With treatment, these spots often turn slightly darker and "grayish", after which they become "crusty" and simply flake off in 3-7 days leaving perfectly virgin skin underneath. For larger pigmented areas in which the melanin is deeper and irregular such as melasma or café-au-lait, progressive fading will accumulate over 3-6 successive treatments until you have achieved the improvement you desire.

Treatments and proper skincare. Immediately following most laser procedures, patients will experience some redness and slight swelling of the treated area, which usually dissipates within a few hours, though in rare cases may last a few days. To enhance the results and promote the overall long-term health of your skin, specially formulated medical-grade moisturizers, exquisite skincare regimens and makeup (if desired) are applied to the treated area immediately after each procedure. Additionally, hair growth may be impaired in the treated area, although it is not the intended purpose of this particular treatment.

Depending on the underlying medical conditions and life style factors that give rise to these pigmented lesions, such as sunspots and age spots, periodic maintenance treatments may be needed for optimal, lasting results.

A video Spore Medical produced for American Medical Aesthetics (www.amacorp.com) featuring their work utilizing lasers to remove sunspots and age spots.

  • tell us how much so people will have an idea. so lets say how much did that girl on the video pay (given her age, spots on neck & face)?

  • She had 4 treatments with the lasers, 3 HBOT sessions. I believe the cost was around 3500. I know it was under 4.

  • i wudnt like to know the risk of cancer from that .

  • They actually use these lasers to eliminate forms of skin cancer.

  • Face palm freckles make people unique and should be embraced just because the photoshoped models don't have them does not mean you should get rid of them.

  • Does anyone know if this works on WHITE sunspots?

  • This sounds like garbage. I'm not talking about the actual removal of the spots. I'm talking about the claim that the procedure "helps you stay away from skin cancers" at 1:40.

How does removing the pigmentation help stay away from skin cancer, which originates in the cells and is a genetic phenomenon? The procedure does not kill skin cells containing the pigment, and even if it did, they are surface cells. Not the basal cells where cancer arises.

  • @sporemedical Will this get rid of freckles on a 14 year old? Seriously. I have red hair and I HATE my freckles. I don't think its sun damage more of just pigmented skin....so yeah

  • I'm 14 df how did I get to watching dis lmfao

  • @blissfullness93

Pity we can't be happy with the way we are. If I only knew Nicole Kidman's secrets. I am the spitting image of her when she was a kid, red hair, freckles. Where did all hers go? and how? I don't believe in the saying "money can't buy you happiness", because if I had money I'd fix all my flaws and be so much better off. Blissfulness93 best of luck, hope things work out.

  • @sebbbo77 hey there... My shoulders and back are covered in probably like a thousand freckles... like a blanket of them, really. All from ONE terrible sunburn I got when I was 14. I'm 35 now and never got over them... IPL sounds like a dream come true. $20,000? ouch. How many procedures was that, and were they really done one by one with the "pen" looking laser? Ive seen that laser that has more of a wide beam that they just drag across the area... thanks for any info.

  • @Schredder222 I'd say I was in the clinic an hour for each treatment and returned every four weeks for 5 mths to get the patches she missed done (at no extra charge) $700. Having been a year now since having mine done I'd say I hate the way my arms look, it's like I have been run over by a tyre. There are fine track marks here and there. My face I am thrilled about and would do again anytime but when considering such a broad area like the arms, the more likely the therapist can miss a spot.

  • @cugambe How long did it take take to have say your arms done? Laser Clinics Australia says $70 for 5 minutes. Do you reckon that's enough time to have my shoulders done?
