Maxim Lapierre (born March 29, 1985 in Saint-Leonard, Quebec) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward currently playing for the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Lapierre started the 20072008 season with the American Hockey League (AHL)'s Hamilton Bulldogs, the Canadiens' farm team, and has been playing with the Canadiens every game since December 5, 2007. He was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Canadiens.

Lapierre played his first NHL game on November 15, 2005 against the Florida Panthers. That was the only NHL game he played that season. During the 200607 season, Lapierre was brought in to replace injured defenceman Mathieu Dandenault, and excelled, scoring three goals and one assist. He was subsequently sent back to the Hamilton Bulldogs after Dandenault returned from his injuries. Lapierre was later recalled to the NHL, but when the Montreal Canadiens didn't make the playoffs, he returned to Hamilton to help the Bulldogs in the Calder Cup playoffs.

After a preseason performance that failed to impress the Canadiens, Lapierre was returned to the Bulldogs to start the 200708 season. On December 5, 2007, he was recalled to the Montreal Canadiens and has been playing ever since as a third and fourth line centre. Lapierre scored a Gordie Howe hat trick against the New York Rangers on December 4, 2008. Later this season, on December 29, 2008, in a game against the Florida Panthers, Lapierre recorded his first career NHL hat trick [1]

  • @FlyerFan9 You realize Lapierre is a 3rd/4th liner right that at the time of this video he had 3 seasons under his belt. The empty net goals (all two of them in the video) were all individual efforts indicative of the hard work he puts in every shift. Either you don't know who Lapierre is or just expecting a bit too much in terms of accomplishments from him. Of course the highlight reel goals against the penguins & the Islanders would have made him look better but this vid was made before it.

  • Welcome to van! Some pretty sweet moves starting at 1:55. Van should try him out in shootouts. :D
