The Davidson Glacier, Alaska. We took a boat to Glacier Point Beach (fabulous place-great for rock hounds) and then took a very short hike to this glacial lake. Our guide, Josh, was terrific. We were told to dress warmly because a cold wind always comes off the glacier....but not today. It was about 85 degrees and calm and we all kept reaching into the water to retrieve glacial ice to help cool us down. The arctic terns were a highlight for me as was seeing those awesome mountains in the distance. Glacial Wilderness and Safari tour.
