@falcondrvr200 and also, we live in America. We use pepper spray to attack our protesters, not assault weapons. But if our citizens carried them around, the police would have to step up their arsenal. So do the math, arab nations have shit loads of assault weapons, and assault weapons get used on citizens. Pretty fucking simple to figure out. I didn't even know why I had a problem with assault weapons till you asked, so thank you! :)

@falcondrvr200 If we were allowed to freely purchase and own assault weapons and machine guns, there would simply be more of them available. Criminals don't make their own guns, they buy them from people. If there are more powerful guns available, there are more for criminals to get their hands on. Seems pretty obvious to me. Did you really need me to explain?

Never mind the fact that Obama has vowed to veto the most orwellian (and Republican) act to pass through Congress since the Patriot Act, which was another Republican invention. Remember also that Sarah Brady was a Republican and the assault weapon ban was put in place by Republicans after Reagan was shot.

In the years Barack Obama has been president, I have purchased WITHOUT INTERFERENCE my first several guns and am about to purchase a pistol in case his efforts to defend us fail.

@tehatemachine Good post. I'm fairly liberal socially and believe in people's INDIVIDUAL rights. I believe in woman's rights, gay rights, the right to bear arms and so on. Rights for everyone... not idiotic restrictions on people's personal freedoms put in place by the corrupt scum we have on both sides of the aisle in Washington and in the state's capitols.

Can any of the moronic politicians answer the question as to WHY we need to ban assault weapons? I can look around the world at the "Arab Spring" events... where I've seen tyrannical governments murdering their civilian populations who where trying to protest for their freedom... and I understand exactly what the Founding Fathers were thinking.
