  • These were actually made with ProShow Producer. The live video demos with Final Cut and Pinnacle

  • We are currently working on numerous product videos, and I will most certainly look at doing a ribbon v ld condenser comparison. They are very different animals indeed. Very different sonic characteristics indeed. Many people refer to the sound of ribbon mics as "dark", I prefer "more natural". But thanks for the question, and stay tuned.

  • The ribbon mic element is thinner than a LD condenser capsule(1.8 um vs 3 um).The transients are much quicker and great for vocals, horns and saxes.

  • Why a Ribbon mic over your large diaphragm mics?? Could you do an A/B video with the same source/take, vocal, acoustic 12 string, snare drum etc to show it off. In store we struggle to provide a good quality demo for our mic customers and I feel a pre recorded a/b demo would be helpful for products like this otherwise you have no reference point. One of the best demo's I recorded was 10 different mics on the same snare drum, recorded at the same time. Very revealing, useful and very instant.
