I'm sorry to inform you but it's not a gyroscope.
An example of a very simple gyro would be the tire on your bike. If you ride with no hands it's because the front is acting like a gyro keeping it from falling over and the back tire as well but it's easier to control since it's just in a way follows you.

If I stuck a metal rod in it, it would break... And then the room would lose gyroscopic stability, causing it to spin randomly ou of control... I want to download this...

what if you put a whole bunch of lasers or turrets on each of the rings?
then you would have a defensive gyro..
