Saw some SE fans comment the only reason DE happened is the writers are catering to a certain fan base and it'll never last cause they were fighting when she said I love you. Really? How can they not see the writers have been building their relationship for 4 freakin seasons? They had the best scenes, best music and so much eye sex they should be legally blind!! Yeah, they fight...that shows their passion...their fire. That's just Damon and Elena...I wouldn't want them any other way. :)

They've said the endgame has been decided since early season 2 and it's definitely not changing. They changed who got the cure because it was too predictable. The ending however, isn't. No one can absolutely say who she's gonna end up with.
