US indie band Cults, who were signed by Lily Allen's label, tell Q why the believe Kurt Cobain and Nirvana's impact on music was so strong that he killed hair metal. Plus why they were so honoured to play the 2011 Reading Festival as it meant they were following in Kurt's footsteps. They speak about Arcade Fire are the 'indie Nirvana' in terms of their impact and sight Kurt Vile as somebody doing something special. • NEVER fucking compare Nirvana to Arcade Fire.

Kurt Cobain was a fucking GENIUS, the fucking Vincent Van Gogh of rock and roll. there will NEVER be anything like him again. he was the last rock star. and hes a god today, he defeated this filthy piece-of-shit u call a planet.

Kurt Vile writes disgusting 80s Springsteen knock-offs at bargain-basement prices. if u say that again ill fucking find u i swear

like Lily Allen EVER had talent. soppy diseased cunt cant even hold a pregnancy

  • The guy on the right looks like Amy Farrah Fowler from The Big Bang Theory!

  • Oh, they didn't kill any hair metal. It won't change, there al the time will be the cock rock, hair metal scene. Some people seems to see more than it used to be when Nirvana broke into mainstream. They made just a lot of good music, concerts, they promoted such good bands like Sonic Youth, TAD, etc. and I think that's all. And as personalities I think they are and were amazing also.

  • Saying that glam metal died out totally because of curt cobain came along is ridiculous, glam metal was already Ten Years old when his "amazing" record hit. Countless other groups out their were constantly experimenting musically, so saying that cobain is a total musical visionary is ridiculous.Compare Nirvana to any other rock band during the late 60's,70's, and 80's.

The doors, Jimi hendrix, Zeppelin, Black sabbath, Queen,Van halen?

All the cliche hipster music today is soo original right?

  • ONE MORE LIKE BEAFORE ILL GO

    TO THE KLIP BELOW

    LOL

  • The Cult really grew on to me. But I have to say that music now has this pretentious hipster/perfect flawless vibe that you can't shake ... It just doesn't feel right to me. Ugh I can't really sum it up. Nirvana has to be the last GREAT band. Too bad I was only a embryo.

  • spot on with kurt vile
