@typaxa Scarlet-X is not 4 stops more latitude than film. Film still has more latitude and better highlight handling. You're thinking of HDR mode, which is not useful in every shot and comes with its own set of drawbacks (try doing HDR with fast movement at 24fps). In native mode it's around 13.5 stops and both film the the Alexa have superior native dynamic range and highlight handling. Looks close enough to film though, but HDR is not always going to work well for every shot.
