See, the lower and softer for me, the better. Otherwise my voice gets really hoarse and light. Ugh, I hate it. If you check out the video I've posted of me singing you'll know what I mean.
But I agree -- you and I should somehow combine voices for an all around fantastic performer with all ranges!! Haha!

I love how you just walk right in like "OK, here I am, I'm gonna rock this house!!" XD Where's your cane to tap on the stage? lol You've got great presence and a fine voice. Plus, the song is perfect.

You know, I actually used to have a cane that I used as a prop for stuff... I never managed to find it when we moved, though! But thank you! ^_^ I wasn't sure how I felt about this recording since I'd sung it MUCH better the first time around, but flubbed on the words in the middle part and decided to re-record it. So glad to know that I didn't butcher this like I thought I did! X-D

I always find that I sing best when I'm not recording or when I think nobody's listening (eg in the shower or home alone in the house or driving to the bus stop in the morning). As soon as the pressure's on my throat closes up and I can't sing a note.
After seeing this video I am seriously inspired to post up me singing Judy's version of this song .. I love Liza's cover but Judy's register is lower so I can sing with her easier. ;)

That's basically how I feel whenever I turn on the camera. I always sing SO much better before I turn it on! But yes!!! You should totally do Judy's version of this :) See, that's what I find weird - people associate Judy with having a higher voice than Liza, when in reality, if you try and sing it? Nope! There's notes in Judy songs that I just plain can't hit because they're too low, whereas with Liza, it's VERY rare that there's a song I can't sing of hers. Part of why I love her so much! :)

Well, you're a true performer then if you can perform in front of a camera! I recall reading once that Judy and Liza had trouble doing duets together because Judy was somewhere between an alto and a lower soprano and Liza was a steady soprano. I can't be loud like Judy, but most of her songs are in my range. But you sound lovely, Liza's music is perfect for you.

:D Thank you! See, I feel I have the opposite problem. I can't do really soft songs very well (thus why I haven't touched anything off the "Gently" album... it seems my vibrato likes to disappear randomly in spots when I do quiet songs) but I thrive on louder ones. So somewhere between the two of us, we might be able to tackle them all! ;) Wish like anything I had Judy's range though, even if just for one song! I can't hit the first few low notes in The Man That Got Away unless I change keys.
