Chaconne Klaverenga plays the second, third, and fourth movements of Koyunbaba by Carlo Domeniconi. Unfortunately I could not get the first one on because of time restraints. This was recorded at the Frankfort Library Concert Series on January 15, 2010.

Guitar: Thomas Humphrey
Video: Floyd Cox

  • Chaconne, did you develop this interpretation with a lot of input from Dennis, or did you mostly develop it on your own? Parts of it seem distinctly you - there are a couple runs that you interpret very similar to how you interpret parts of the Invocacion y Danza, or Capricho Arabe.

Very nice job. It's always a pleasure to hear you play.

  • @BenjMB22 Thanks -- I think my style is a mix of both.

  • klaverenga, in what tuning do you play this piece?

  • The tuning is (from 6th to 1st) c#, g#, c#, g#, c#, e. The music is in scordatura so it makes it simpler to read.

  • Hearing Ms.Klaverenga play this in recital approximately 8 hours ago was the most lovely guitar playing I have ever heard. She has a delightful sense of humor, too! Do yourself a favor and see her live if you have the chance. Best wishes to Chaconne for every happiness.

Is it made of JACARANDA de BAHIA?

  • Congratulations and thanks, your playing ist a bless for my spirit,

What kind of guitar do you play, who did make it?
