@chaseroot His injury in 2009 deteriorated his speed and flexibility. Nothing recent. But it's affected his play since.
But if they work on just pushing side to side and stretching while staying upright (no more belly flops!) who knows, he might overcome it. That, with a return to his old natural style, will silence the haters again. At least in my opinion.
I just miss how he used to play, using his 6'3 frame to his advantage & always at 110%. He's got my support all the way.

I miss the old Lou, challenging shooters, absorbing shots, snagging pucks...he's overcoached now. Screw the play deep in your net style, you've got size you use it to your advantage. Hamhuis & Bieksa should be watching backdoor plays.
Melanson, help him with his conditioning & lateral movement since his groin messed up, stop overcoaching him. He focuses too hard on deep technique and it not only actually makes his technique worse but he's forgotten how to use his instincts.
