Tom Haller, former all-star catcher of the SF Giants, LA Dodgers & Detroit Tigers was honored in the inauguration of the Giants "Wall of Fame" outside AT&T Park on King Street on Tu 9/23/08. Joan Haller, widow of Tom was recovering from surgery in Palm Springs and her son, Tom Haller Jr. was near her side assisting her and were unable to participate in the festivities. However, many of the former Giant players and their spouses sent warm greetings to Joan, Tom and Tim. This video shows the bronze plaque of Tom and notes his home run off of Whitey Ford in the 1962 World Series and catching 23 innings in a game against the Mets as two of many highlights in an illustrious career in major league baseball. We all miss Tom Haller and are better people because of him being in our lives. He was loved by all who knew him.
