When fighting a parking ticket, make sure to look over the traffic citation for any mistakes, such as an incorrect license number. Fight a parking ticket by calling city hall or taking a trip to talk directly to a clerk with advice from a certified civil mediator in this free video on traffic violations.

  • it i get one parked on the street why could i have to pay to park on a road my tax money built ?

  • your wecome Robert Todd

  • in contract law, it has to be the driver who pays the penalty

But they have to show who was driving, and at no time is the owner obliged to tell them who it is..

  • Also, if you ask for a trial, you're free to petition the prosecutor for a deal - a reduction in the cost of the ticket in exchange for dropping the trial and pleading guilty. The more diligent you appear (making formal requests for disclosure of evidence, filing motions, etc.) the more determined to fight you will appear, and the better the deal the prosecutor is likely to offer you.

  • Also, (might be different where you are) But, if you can, you should ALWAYS go to trial. You can pay the ticket right up to 5 mins before your trial begins if you want, and be done with it. But, it could take up to 2 years to get a date, and any number of things could happen in that time to render your case dismissed. So, ask for a trial, and even if you don't want to go to trial, just wait until the last minute and go and pay your ticket.

  • Where I'm from. mistakes on the ticket don't mean squat - a ticket can be amended at any time - even during the trial. Unless it contains a "fatal error" (basically an error that rendered you unable to properly defend yourself) which is rare.

  • well, if the plate number is wrong then don't worry about it at all because it won't be traced back to you anyways.

  • good info
