Solaris-The Filters

Here are the different filter types:
MM1 = MultiMode 1 - has 23 variations (modes). Closest to the CEM Lowpass used in Prophet 5 Rev. 3s.

SSM - emulation of the Solid State Music Lowpass filter used in the Prophet 5 Rev. 1&2

Mini - emulation of the Moog ladder type of filter

Obie - emulation of the 12 dB slope Lowpass used in the Oberheim synths

Comb - this filter has 2 modes, called Tube and Comb. Tube provides a greater resonant response, and is more useful for flute and plucked object type sounds.

@albedoshader I prefer Hardware myself , in fact im addicted to it ! all i think about is what synth am i gonna save for now ! But im not gonna knock software cause there are some great softsynth's out there !! Thor , sylenth1 and omnisphere to name a couple , and with midi keyboard's you can tweek your sound's in the same fashion as hardware !

I mentioned value just as a general point of interest, not exatly directed to you. Those X vs. Y discussions are shit and usually no comparisons at all. True comparisons would be absolutely interesting, actually.

E.g. if you'd compare a piano with an organ or a hapsichord and say "Pianos are the best, hapsichords sound nothing like pianos and church organs sound like flutes. That's why piano PWNZ church organs and hapsichords" you'd just admit you have no clue at all.

Only people who have never made their hands dirty on actual hardware with actual keys and knobs and flaws think VSTs are the best you can get.

@albedoshader Honestly im just tired of the analog / digital war ! Just like mac or p.c. the truth is either your a musician or not . If you have the music in you then you can make good tune's with bucket's and trash cans ! If you don't , you could have the most expensive shit and still sound like shit !!! and i didn't mean the enjoyment of analog would fade i meant there just not making as many anymore . everyones making analog modeling synth's now . And a lot of them sound great too !!!

@hubiedubie: Analog is not automatically good. There were a lot of really shitty analog synths out there. They've just become modern again.

I hat those discussions about what technology is better.

Show me one analog synth that does the same as a org Prophecy or Z1, for example. Or show me any analog synth that can do what a Yamaha DX-7 does.

Does this mean analog synths are crap? No. They're just analog.

And Synths like the PPG Wave (+Waveterm), etc. were digital or hybrid synths.

All the people that hate digital synths are about to be very upset ! things are changing and analog is slowly vanishing . We just have to embrace the old and look forward to the new ! Yes i love analog sound and i love digital capabilities ! Lets move on and deal with it , these stupid youtube wars are retarded ! lets makes some music and stop crying !!!
