This was actually pretty interesting. I got one on eBay for $2 and $5 shipping, came from Cupertino, CA, of all places, and had some heat damage to the plastic... I was afraid to open it. now that I see that this is all it takes... I'm a little less frightened by taking mine apart. it works, but sometimes errors up and needs to be restored... I thought I'd poke around inside and look for corrosion and such... and possibly also replace the battery, and, of course, give the gem a thorough clean.

had the same problem. i opened the shuffle like shown in this vid. then i found a pin disconnected and soldered it. now the ipod is working again.

I have 3 of those unopened out of their boxes
my shuffle of the left speaker doesn't work..is this how i fix it?

@spartanhill id verify its not just the earphones if same on another set then ur jack is screwed prolly hafto jus buy a new one they cheap
