In this video, I show how to do quick video edits with Quicktime Pro. This will work on Windows as well, but QT Pro is required.

  • Hey DizzyDoug. Why is it that I'll open an .mpg or .mov file in quicktime pro, and it will not have the little in / out tabs, in order to slide them, to trim to selection?

  • @benslooking4junk QT Pro is older software, and does not have the "trim" feature that QuickTIme X does.

  • hey

i have the new flip camera and i dont have quicktime and every time i try watching it on my mac the screen turns black.... if i buy quicktime is it not going to turn back

and also if i buy quicktime is it possible to also use my flip on i movie?

    mesg. back please

    thanks

  • Sounds like you are missing the right codec. I don't have a flip, so I can't advise you on what codecs it uses and what you need.

BTW. Quicktime comes as a free download too.

  • Davidfx01 - I just bought the Flip and it is really great. Yes, you do need Quicktime and yes, you can make IMovie videos.

DizzyDoug - I tried to trim an audio file the same exact way you did the video and it didn't work. Cant figure out what I'm doing wrong - I do have Pro....

  • If you have QT, Pro 7, and followed what I did, it should work. Can you provide more detail as to what's happening?

  • Hi Diz - question about the vidz - how do I over dub audio on a vid clip, that already has audio with Quicktime Pro?

  • Hi Dizzy Doug! Thanks for helping with this! Im not the greatest on the computer, and all your high tech talk goes waaay over my head. One question I had is you were talking about doing a quick save otherwise it takes a long time, or something like that. So the quick way that you did the edit, is that ready to go onto youtube just like that? 2-if you do a save as does your original video stay the same as it was before?

  • Can I change the original movie audio to another audio in Quicktime Pro?

  • I am having problem when adding a photo.. how can I make it last longer than a sec?

  • hey dude, I am confuse about adding my intro. I got my videos and all I want is a photo as intro but I don't know how to make length 5 sec.. I tried editing from another video editor with some music, but then it doesn't recognize it..

    some help please

    ps. great video!

  • Great video!

Question, can I add music to my movie with the use of quicktime pro?

I have purchased some songs from itunes and would like to know if I somehow could add my clips with songs to finish my video.

    Please help Dizzy Doug !
