Gospel Rock is on the Sunshine Coast in Gibsons, British Columbia, Canada

Friends of Gospel Rock want to preserve the natural beauty and habitat of this large waterfront view acreage in the center of Gibsons, with its panoramic views, rock bluffs, rare plants, wildlife, and hiking trails.

Gospel Rock is a pre-eminent, historical marine landmark, so named because of the religious writings that used to adorn it.

Weary sailors knew that they were close to their journeys end when the huge rock came into sight.

This video was made 15 to 20 years ago in hopes to raise awareness of the need to protect this landmark that is cherished by the community and visitors.

I can't help but think that the reason the United Nations recognized Gibsons as the most livable community and best town in the world is because of such magic places as Gospel Rock. We spoofed the fencing in Gibsons Gold, a musical parody lampooning the best town in the world.

It is the other entrance to Howe Sound as is Light House Park in West Vancouver. Light House Park was made a preserved early on......no time like the present to start fund raising and purchase this jewel for our children's great grandchildren.

I love this spot, it is one of my favorite in all of Gibsons. I walk threw the trails everyday, it would be really sad to see it developed when so many people enjoy it as it is.
