  • Nice video. How easily could you take this file and use an automated sort of cutting machine to make the parts out of wood? If I got this program and saved out this file, could one take it and the wood somewhere to have this cut? Just curious. I've always wanted to make furniture/etc and I'd love this way of doing things, especially having a 3dsMAX background.

  • Most of the work will go directly out to a cam product , the better ones can read the solid model of the individual parts , so its a vey fast process to machine , exactly what was designed . The backgrounds are HDRI scenes ....

  • @Wisdomtech do you have any tutorials of your work?

  • Thanks. I meant I have a background with 3DS MAX :)

After looking into this further, I've been really looking at the Shopbot as a CNC that looks like a good one. Do you have any experience in taking Inventor designed furniture and using a Shopbot to cut everything? I'm also curious if Inventor does any sort of optimizing of wood use, etc of if a third-party app would be needed for that. Also, do you suggest the full Inventor, or is the LT version enough for this?
