I have a 13 year old girl with sma type 2. I remember when she got her button. We thought it was so horrible. 11 years after she got it , she loves it. She still calls her feedings her Tummy Juice. When I need to give her a med and I just want her to take it by mouth she says I am not drinking that! That is what the button is for! Got to love kids. If you run out of lube, olive oil works great. lol

I just want you to know this is a great video. I have a little one with a number of neurological problems. She currently has a G-Tube and it is getting switched to a Mic-Key in a couple of weeks. Seeing this video eased my mind about changing it at home. Thank you.

Thank you and you're welcome. Remember the trick is to have everything prepared and a spare on hand. Some holes close over quicker than others so have everything ready to go, pull the old one out and immediately replace it with the new one. You have to use a little more pressure than you think to get it in! If you ever need more help feel free to contact me and I can show you what to do using video conferencing.

My 4 year old daughter pulled her mickey button out after having it for only 2 weeks this week. I watched this video while she was in the hospital and was able to help her immediately and the docs were amazed. Thank you so much!
