Well that is disturbing. But let's keep in mind that we still don't know the whole story and may not for some time, if ever. If the allegations prove to be true, he is yet another tragically flawed hero; many of mine had a dark side, but it doesn't diminish their amazing gifts. As far as judging them as people, it's best not to try in my estimation.

I too spent a week with him at guitar camp, and was equally impressed. He was a brilliant and inspiring instructor. But before you make any judgment about him as a human being (or about the reasons for his suicide), read the comments on "The Life and Legacy of Bob Brozman" in the Santa Cruz Weekly. Be sure to read the posts by Gary Atkinson and Mary Christine. You and I knew a charming and talented musician. But we did not know the whole story.

I went to a week long guitar camp with him as an instructor; I never met a more inspired, inspiring person; endlessly creative and generous with his gifts. Very sad to learn of his death, and to learn that he'd been dealing with serious pain and a diminishing ability to play.

best performer i've ever seen and i've seen many concerts in my life... in all genres. was gutted to hear the news last week. Just read wikipedia and it says he took his own life. It just makes it doubly tragic, especially as he had filled so many people's lives with joy. I have a beautiful email from him that i kept from 8 years ago. never met him directly in the flesh, but what a great guy he was. so tragic.

Its very rare that a guitarist can show off (to this level) and keep the song going and make it interesting. With maybe the exception of Eddie Van Halen, this guy does it the best!
