Hairul Syafrein started playing the Electone at the tender age of 5. Having developed a deep interested in the instrument, he began to explore the different types of keyboard instruments including the piano, synthesizers, the accordion as well as the different styles of playing each instrument. He immerses himself into the genres of pop, rock, R&B, jazz as well as traditional Malay music.

Hairul is part of the Orkestra Melayu Singapura on keyboard and accordion. His interest for traditional Malay music led him to be one of the pioneer members of the Malay Traditional Ensemble, De'lima.

The performance for this evening will include a medley of pop, jazz and traditional music. The Pianist will feature Rudy Djoharnaen, a local Malay singer who will perform classics like 'Ibu' and 'You're My Everything'.
