  • @dizafatslag for a comparison of the differences yes. but to compare how they would sound if you were to actually use them people would probably crank the treble on the texas heat and what not. but i agree with you, i'd rather hear them set up the same. boosting the amps treble wont sound nearly the same on every amp.

  • @austinfailz it makes perfect sense most of the speakers out there are voiced to sound similar to others but i def don't want anything to do with the t75, great speaker just not for me, or my 6505+ it only adds more top end fizz to the upper mid voicing of the head i really need a low end speaker that has a lot of warmth what kind of speakers are you running in your cabs if you don't mind me asking? thanks for the advice, and encouragement! haha

  • Texas Heats hands down.

  • @RedNBlacK951 I say try it. I wanna try them in one of my cabs. I think the Texas Heat/Swamp Thang combo kinda sounds like the American voiced counterpart to the Governor/Man O War combo, which is supposed to be similar to the V30/T75 X pattern, if any of that makes sense.

  • The Celestion sounds better for the heavy stuff. Much better!

  • I run a V30 and a Texas Heat in a 2x12 and it sounds killer. The combination of the speakers really compliment each other. The texas heat sounds "papery" when it's not being pushed hard enough. You need to run enough volume from this speaker to get it to sound as good as it can. Don't buy a texas heat for a low wattage 1x12 and expect great results.. unless you always crank the S.O.B.

  • @DJsqueely

To compare speakers you're supposed to leave them at the same EQ, are you not?

  • even though i favor v30s over anything else, but you arent even giving the eminence a chance. you cant leave them at the same eq. you have to set each to their most perfect parameter than record them that way.

  • i have been looking into the swamp thang/texas heat combo for my 4x12 anyone try this combo how does it sound i play mainly death metal and drop tunned stuff out of my peavey 6505+ head im lookin for good bottom end and tamed highs if anyone can enlighten me i would appreciate that swapping speakers is a nightmare theres way too many good speakers and combos out there!!

  • Definitely a more pronounced low mids in the Texas Heat. I have one and

love it for blues and hard rock. The cleans are acceptable if your amp has a bright switch.

It's certainly not a speaker for jazz or where pristine cleans are necessary.
