coming from a die-hard penguins fan, this was the last straw for me with Cooke. there is NO need for a bone-headed play like that. none. it's a total disgrace to the Penguins organization and to the NHL itself. he's an idiot.

@HardCore039 I respect Mario as a player but I don't remember him speaking up about headshots until Crosby got hit- where was he when Cooke just about ruined Savards career? I agree headshots should be banned but it's hard for me to feel he isn't a hypocrite when he employs Cooke and didn't speak up back then

Todd Bertuzzi almost paralyzed Dominic Moore (he only killed his hockey career),

so I guess it would be legit to kill Matt Cooke now, for all this nasty shots..

Then, maybe the league will take the players safety and the game integrity seriously... (Yeah, i know, I am probably over-dreaming here...)

@Thefashionista125 @CMench26 you guys do realize that in the GM meetings, Mario and Shero were huge advocates of instituting fines for the owners for hits like this right? Just because Cooke MADE the hit doesn't make Lemieux a hypocrite, it's the actions that ownership takes.
