Brave Fencer Musashi - 16: Keeping Chilled

Inside the Frozen Palace, Musashi finds a number of Bincho Fields, a variety of treasure and a lot of foes to best. One of such treasures, however, appears to be a piece of the Legendary Armor, the L-Shoes. But what else could be lying in wait?

Small puzzles leading to coloured eyes. And the Fire Scroll proves to be somewhat useful. But next thing he knows, Musashi finds himself face to face with another Crest Guardian: the Frost Dragon. A vicious fight ensues while avoiding a frigid coffin to the beast.

Once the guardian is defeated, the Fire Crest is liberated. With nothing else of value to find inside the chilled hideout, Musashi decides to return to the village. This concludes Chapter 4.

The Frozen Palace is a long dungeon as there is a lot of things you need to do, including the retrieval of the coloured eyes. My inventory is full and you really want to take whatever you find in this place the first time around.

We do get to see some new Fusion abilities and more trekking of the icy castle. One has to wonder why the castle is so frozen though? I mean wow, nothing but ice to walk on means the temperature must be so low...

As you might have guessed, you need the Legendary Goggles if you want to finish this area, since a path you need to access requires the Legendary Shoes to continue. Either that or leave the palace to get the RedShoes appraised and then finally come back later, which would be pretty annoying when you think about it.

And then the Crest Guardian. The Frost Dragon is an interesting boss, though it really falls into the same pattern at the end. You have to use the Fire Scroll to wear it down first and expose the core. The Dragon sometimes lunges twice in a row, which caught me off guard. But make no mistake, that dragon does A LOT of damage to you. I mean, 30 damage on contact, 80+ if you get hit by that blizzard blast beam.
