  • God i hate the old version. Give me the Rock Revival 2001 anytime.

Why do everyone do this show as a joke when its really quite funny when you dont make every choreography a comical piece.

    Average. Not bad though.

  • well we actually took it quite seriously, this is a fun song about rejoicing and celebrating love though, so we enjoyed ourselves quite a bit. Also your preference for the revival version is just that, a preference.

  • It's so nice to see a production that sticks to the original idea of being a small-scale show - a cast of 10 - rather than the mega-productions with a full 'broadway-sized' chorus. At the heart of this show is a very simple, very powerful message. The small, contained cast helps to focus the audience's attention on the meaning of the piece: the large-scale productions just dilute it and the mass of people on stage distracts from the story. And I speak as a radicalised athiest and choreographer!

  • We saw the London production in 1972 with Jeremy Irons. This particular song is truly profound. I find the lyrics much more evocative of gratitude and awe than those of many hymns heard in churches. I pray that it continues to resonate in the lives of all its performers. The cacophony at the end is annoying, but the rest is the message of Christ's Truth. PONDER & BE BLESSED!

    .

  • That was really good! Can't wait until I get to sing it!!!

  • @gregumsdagreggy I just find that every time they concentrate on the music and excitable dancing not slapstick over the top choreography it attracts the audience to the awesomeness of the song.

Also the Rock revival version is alot more like music from our generation and to be honest i just find it more powerful.

  • Enjoyable. : )
