Well, when you've got 3 planes flying the same course at those kinds of speeds, accidents can and do happen.
Midair collisions are pretty frequent.
And since there's no telling where all the bits and pieces might end up...you'd better be wearing a helmet when something goes wrong and it's coming your way...in a hurry...
