As I said before, it's an Ode to to the blue collar women of days gone by. As for it being "trending" (I'm going to assume you meant trendy), it may be heading that way. But years ago when we started coming to this fun little festival it wasnt trendy at all. As for stereotyping, this isnt done in a derogatory way, so relax. It'll be ok. i swear.

@popgrand212 Wow a year later and you commenting on my comment! In this area (northern) of Baltimore we pronounce Baltimore with a "D" = "Bal-da-more" not "Balmer" (southeastern)..... and how many is many years???? Was Cafe Hon here when you moved here??? Are you referencing the tourists or newbies to the neighborhood or the locals that have generations that have lived here? WTH was the point of your comment anyway? You want to prove something?

@soyanoli I lived in Hampden for many, many years and ALL I've ever heard from people there is the heavy "balmer" accent.

I grew up in Baltimore ( Arbutus) While Dundalk may have the strongest Bawdamore accent, most people from the area have a distinct sound. I moved away over 40 years ago,and I can still pick out a Bawdimorean , after their first sentence. The hair and dances are remeniscent of 50's and 60's. I totally get the sterotype. If you are from a younger generation, this may not apply to you. I am sure that "HonFest" is a great time!!

I really must go Hon Fest one year, I'd totally fit in. <3
It is so amazing how I have lived her all my life and never said HON or pronounced Baltimore that way... hmmm neither have any of my friends... Oh yea that's right because Hampden doesn't talk that way... that is Essex and Dundalk area...
