So this is my lengthy explanation of some of the grammar in the Video Nepali 4a.
I am going into detail on:
- the verbs basnu and jaanu
- the verb structure in Nepali: Verb stem and flection
- postposition adverbs in Nepali
- the usage of jasto
- question words
- the usage of kati as an intensifier adverb
- the usage of the present tense for relating a future event

This is the text and the translation:

"Ma aaja dekhi ek mahinaa pachaaDi Nepal ra India jaane hu.
From today onwards in a month I will go to Nepal and India.

Mero flight Berlin baaTa Istanbul bhaera dilli jaancha, India jaancha.
My flight will go from Berlin, via Istanbul to Delhi, to India.

Ani, ma dilli pugepachi ma siDai train ra bas maa Nepal jaanchu, ma siDai pokhara jaanchu.
And then, after I arrive in Delhi I will go directly by train and bus to Nepal, I will go directly to Pokhara.

Ani, pheri pokhara pugepachi ma siDai Annapurna ko kshetra ma hiDera ghumchu -- tyocaahi „trekking" garna jaanchu.
And then, again after I arrive in Pokhara I will go straight roaming around by foot in the Annapurna area -- meaning I will go trekking.

Ani [...] annapurna ko trekking ko antasamma pugepachi nepalbaaTa nabasera ma siDai India pharkanchu.
And then [after stumbling over my own words] after reaching the finish of the Annapurna Trekking I will returnv straight without staying any further from Nepaal to India.

Ani India maa aru caahi ... aru tin baanki haptaa jati baschu.
And then I will spend the remaining approximate three weeks in India.

Ani tyasai pachaDi pheri Germany jaanchu. Tyatikai.
And then after that I will again go to Germany. That's it.

Ani Nepal ra India jaane kati khushi laagyo, kati man cha, hoi?!
And well ... I am so excited to go to Nepal and India, there is such a strong desire, right?!

Dherai na baseko, ani dherai na basera ta dherai khushi laageko thiyo.
I have not stayed there for a long while, and because of that I have suffered a lot.

Ahile ekdamai khushi laagyo.
Now I am extremely happy.

Kahile kaahi ta nepaal bidesh jastai laagdaina, malai nepaal kahile kaahi swaadesh hi laagcha.
Sometimes Nepal does not feel like a foreign country to me, but it in fact sometimes feels like home.

Mero aaphno ghar tyahi ho jasto laagcha.
It feels like my house was there.

Tyasaikaran caar barsha ko laagi nepaal na gaera ahile ta ekdamai khushi laagyo.
And because of that - not having gone to Nepal for four years - now I feel extremely happy.

Yati aaja ko laagi nai ho. Ani ma pachi dusro caahi video posting garchu.
That's it for today. And then later I will post the second video."

  • Interesting!!!! But could be done much better if u go a bit in detail about nepali grammar DIDI; like you're having difficulty to differenciate between an adverb & prepositions. I think grammatically nepali language is more easier to learn than english...

  • could you make more hand gestures plz hehehehe

  • dami video! :)

  • तिमि लाई त मलाई भन्दा धेरै ब्याकरण आउदो रहेछ !!
