@SHULERP1 Funny - I gave some away recently..... It wasn't me shooting 'em, but I'd surely LOVE to give it a shot with the .357 maximum!

One of the reasons that professional commercial divers use steel tanks as opposed to aluminum tanks is because of what you have just seen in the above video. Although the steel tank is heavier, it is inherently stronger and less susceptible to puncture damage than an aluminum tank.

@benlenchner1 Aren't they also cheaper, last longer, and require less care / maintenance? If I had to have a 'fleet' of tanks, I'd enjoy all those benefits!

@rshurack Yeah. In order for an 'explosion' to occur, you'd need either a higher oxygen content and aluminum cylinder, a massive 'insult' to the tank that allows a high flow rate where 3500psi gets to ambient in a couple seconds (whatever's around will pressurize quickly, and I'd bet you could 'pop' a shark), or have something quite flammable already burning and use the cylinder to provide the oxygen to burn it quicker.
