I BOUGHT THIS FILM 2007 YEARS AGO,UPON EDITING ,THIS IS WHAT WAS ON THE 1949 FILM, YOU CAN SEE THAT THE CAMERA IS PANNING WITH THE OBJECT.THEN IT DISAPPEARS BEHIND THE CLIFF,
I bought this film from a estate sale,It is a home movie from a vacationing family visiting Vancouver Victoria washington Oregon and Nevada in 1949.

thats a place called "crater lake" in oregon [not "creator lake"]. its a volcanic crater that filled with water and is the deepest lake in oregon i think. the vid is taken near the area of the lodge, and there is a cliff that drops straight off right where the object disappears... so it is likely a bird landing in the area underneath the cliff.

@awaldegrave You're right. Way to fast to be a bird, and the only kind of bird that flys straight is a crow but obviously that's not a crow.

The footage is not speeded up , the film is from somebody;s vacation, I still have this film from 1949,

So ,what kind of bird is it,If you think it is a bird,It not a seagull ,I can find the GPS of this area if you like,to see the area in question .

@awaldegrave It's soaring in a straight line, but at a downwards angle which a bird can easily do. The footage is speeded up also. If you look, you can also see its wings spread out as it soars downwards. it;s definitely a bird.
